Heavy 16 Nutrients and supplements were designed by Bryce Patterson, a world-class agronomist and graduate of California Polytechnic State University. Based on his studies, experiments, and love of a certain plant, Bryce created HEAVY 16 on a few key principles:

- Use complex chemistry for easy application: more science, fewer bottles
- Use Micro-Batch blending techniques to ensure total quality control and peak freshness
