An Xtrasun convertible ballast means extra flexibility for your gardening. Use halide for growing, then once plants have started, switch to sodium bulbs for flowering.
- Convert from sodium to halide and back
- Dual voltage
- Works with Hydrofarm reflectors and most others
- Aluminum fins for more cooling surface
- 120V/240V (208v capable*)
NOTE: *For 208v internal wiring change is required
This ballast no longer has 277V wire taps. BAC100MT does have these wire taps, however it still comes wired to 120/240V.
What is the difference between an electronic ballast and a magnetic core and coil?
Electronic ballasts, also known as "digital", utilize a internal microprocessor that converts a higher efficiency of energy to the bulb using less power from the ballast. The result is a higher quality bulb life, and increased output of light.
Does the Mondo reflector have attached flanges and a lens system?
The Mondo Reflector has louvered flange covers that must be removed in order to attach the included 6" flanges. A lens system is included with the packaging as well to complete the air-cooling functionality.
Are my ballasts generator-ready?
All of the ballasts we sell are generator-ready. Generator-ready ballasts include: Xtrasun ballasts, Phantom ballasts, Phantom II ballasts, and Quantum ballasts.
Will my dual voltage 120/240V ballast operate on 208V or 277V?
Our Xtrasun and SG magnetic ballasts currently only have 120V & 240V capability. Our Powerhouse ballasts are wired for 120V and 240V, but have the capability to be rewired to 208V or 277V. If you already have a Hydrofarm ballast, consult a certified electrician to rewire this for you. For warranty coverage, ballasts with these voltages will need to be special ordered.
